100 Films 100 Posters has been a unique side event of the JEONJU International Film Festival (JEONJU IFF) since 2015. This exhibition selects 100 films from the festival, then showcases them as posters by 100 graphic designers. The resulting 100 posters that the designers reinterpret are displayed in the exhibition spaces and on the streets of Jeonju, offering the public a new way to experience the event.
This event serves as both an exploration of visual language through the collaboration of the film and graphic design industries and an experimental platform for the creative intersection of film and design. For film enthusiasts, it will provide a new way to engage with films, while for designers, it will present an opportunity to reinterpret films through the medium of print. The 100 posters, unveiled annually in May in Jeonju, later find homes in various spaces, functioning as dynamic media that bridge film and design.
Marking its 10th edition in 2024, 100 Films 100 Posters expanded both its scope and duration. Starting in 2025, with a change in its lead curatorial body, the program introduced a new thematic focus and a series of talk events called ‘Salon’. The inaugural theme for 2025, ‘Film Festival Design’, aims to explore and expand the intersection of film and graphic design.

《100 Films 100 Posters》는 2015년부터 개최되는 전주국제영화제의 독창적인 부대 행사로, 영화제 상영작 100편을 100명의 그래픽 디자이너가 포스터로 디자인하여 선보이는 프로젝트입니다. 디자이너들의 자유로운 해석으로 탄생한 100장의 포스터는 영화제 기간 동안 전주의 전시장과 거리에 전시되어 대중이 영화제를 새로운 시각으로 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다.
이 행사는 영화계와 그래픽 디자인계의 협업을 통해 독창적인 시각 언어를 탐구하는 자리이자, 영화와 디자인의 창의적 만남을 실험하는 무대입니다. 영화 팬들에게는 영화를 소유하는 또 다른 방식이 되고, 디자이너들에게는 종이라는 매체로 영상을 재해석하는 기회가 됩니다. 매년 5월 전주에서 처음 공개되는 100점의 포스터는 이후 각자의 공간에 자리 잡으며, 영화와 디자인이 공존하는 유동적인 매체로 기능합니다.
2024년 10회를 맞이하여 공간과 기간을 확장했던 《100 Films 100 Posters》는 2025년을 기점으로 총괄 기획 주체가 교체되면서 ‘주제 행사’와 이를 주축으로 한 살롱 행사를 도입했습니다. 2025년 첫 주제인 ‘영화제 디자인’을 통해 영화와 그래픽 디자인의 교차점을 확장해 나가고자 합니다.
